The Nurse Practitioner Team can treat: -

Acute minor illness in adults and children including:

Cold sores / constipation / coughs / chest infections / earache / eczema / nose bleeds / haemorrhoids / hayfever / simple indigestion / insect bites & stings / rashes / simple back pain / sore throat / tonsillitis / sinusitis / shingles / sickness & diarrhoea / threadworms / UTIs / warts & verrucas / fungal infections / infections of the eyes, fingers, toes or skin.

 

Contraception and women’s health issues including:

Contraceptive pill / contraceptive injection / contraceptive implant fit & removal / emergency contraception / coil checks and removals / smears / swabs / HRT / thrush / ring pessary change.

They DO NOT routinely provide travel information or immunisations, change dressings or perform blood tests, blood pressure checks or ECGs.

If you are unsure whether you should see a Nurse Practitioner you can discuss this with Reception when you book your appointment. (Please also see further information in the leaflet below). Appointments can be booked in advance or on the day and you can also speak to the nurse practitioners on the telephone.
